Join us for a Fireside Chat

During the first week of every month, PABC will be hosting Fireside Chats at 6:30pm.

Join our members-only online chat for the opportunity to engage with PABC CEO, Andrea Burton, and staff to discuss current issues and lay the foundation for the future of physiotherapy in BC.

Physio Advocate website was created in late 2023 by the Physiotherapy Association of BC as a tool for providing real-time updates on issues of great importance to physiotherapists in British Columbia, our colleagues across allied health, and the general public.

We are committed to working with our partners across many professions and industries, including government, to optimize the full scope of practice for physiotherapists in BC.

The Physiotherapy Association of BC (PABC) is a registered non-profit organization.

PABC has been serving its 2,800+ members for over 75 years. Founded in 1927 as a Branch of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, PABC was incorporated in 1945.

PABC is governed by physiotherapy members who are elected to the Board of Directors.

As the voice of its members, PABC ensures members have access to practice support, professional development and advocacy avenues to provide opportunities for people in BC to receive quality care that keeps them moving for life.

PABC represents its members to government, health authorities, insurers, other stakeholders, and the public.

Mission: The Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia leads the physiotherapy profession by fostering excellence in practice, continuing education and advocacy. Together, we inspire healthy lifestyles.

Vision: Physiotherapy in British Columbia is an essential partner for optimizing movement and health.

National Physiotherapy Month!

During this month, many physiotherapy organizations, clinics, and professionals may organize events, workshops, and outreach programs to educate the public about the importance of physiotherapy and highlight the diverse range of services it offers.

2024-2026 Strategic Plan for PABC

We are always focused on building on the great work that has been completed during the previous period, but as we look to a new staff team and board to lead and guide the progression of the Association, as we lean into a new era where we will be registered within an amalgamated College and functioning under the new Health Professions and Occupations Act, we know that now is indeed the time to for ‘New Directions’.
